Valley of the Eagles Golf Club, Elyria, Ohio

Valley of the Eagles Golf Club is the only Jack Nicklaus–designed public course in northern Ohio. Originally opened in 1950 as Spring Valley Country Club, the property was completely transformed when Nicklaus Design reimagined it into its current form, reopening in 2018. Routed along the Black River, the par-72 championship course stretches over 7,000 yards, showcasing Nicklaus’s trademark strategy with wide landing areas, sculpted bunkering, and contoured greens that demand precision. The redesign also emphasized environmental restoration, with natural wetlands and river corridors integrated into play, making Valley of the Eagles both a challenging test and a scenic highlight of Ohio golf.
