Peninsula Golf & Racquet Club, nestled between Mobile Bay and the Gulf of Mexico in Gulf Shores, Alabama, is a championship 27-hole layout crafted by esteemed architect Earl Stone, debuting in 1995. The three distinct nines—Marsh, Lakes, and Cypress—offer varied challenges and visual drama, from sweeping water vistas and marshlands to towering live oaks and cypress groves. Playable yet strategic, Peninsula is consistently celebrated as one of the Southeast’s most memorable public courses. I had the privilege of photographing the club in 2018 and again in 2022, capturing its impeccable condition, subtle routing, and the natural beauty that makes this course a regional gem.
