Mountain Shadows in Scottsdale is a stunning 18-hole par-3 course that reimagines a classic desert layout on the site of the original 1960s course designed by Arthur Jack Snyder. Completely redesigned by Forrest Richardson, Snyder’s protégé, it reopened in 2017 as a modern short course that celebrates strategy, creativity, and fun against the dramatic backdrop of Camelback Mountain. I photographed Mountain Shadows just before its grand opening in 2016, capturing its bold lines and desert beauty at their freshest. Since then, my images of the course have been featured in magazines around the world, showcasing its unique blend of history, design innovation, and iconic setting.
