Yishan Golf Club, Wuhan, Hubei Province, PRC

Yishan Golf Club, located in Wuhan, Hubei Province, was one of two clubs I photographed in 2014 during my first photo trip to China. It is a championship layout designed by Rick Robbins and opened in the early 2000s. Robbins shaped the par-72 course through rolling hills and valleys, incorporating native vegetation, dramatic bunkering, and water features that create both scenic beauty and strategic variety. In recent years, the Robbins & Associates team has guided renovation and refinement work, including bunker restoration, turf improvements, and drainage upgrades, ensuring Yishan continues to thrive as one of central China’s premier golf experiences.
