Wasatch Mountain State Park Golf Course features two celebrated layouts: the Mountain Course, opened in 1972 by architect William H. Neff, and the Lake Course, added in 1990 by John Harbottle. The Mountain Course climbs through canyons and forests with dramatic elevation changes and sweeping alpine vistas, while the Lake Course offers a gentler, parkland feel with open fairways and water in play on several holes. Both have been refined over the years by the Utah State Parks design team, focusing on bunkers, turf, and sustainability. After my work at Soldier Hollow for the USGA National Public Links, the State of Utah hired me to photograph both courses, capturing their beauty across the Wasatch landscape.
