Upper Montclair Country Club boasts a storied history with contributions from some of golf’s greatest architects. The original layout dates back to Donald Ross in the early 1900s, who crafted the foundation of its strategic parkland style. In the 1950s, Robert Trent Jones Sr. extensively redesigned the course, shaping the 27 holes that define the club today, with bold bunkering, water hazards, and demanding green complexes. More recently, the Rees Jones design team has overseen renovations to modernize bunkers, improve drainage, and refine playability while honoring the classic Ross–Trent Jones legacy. The result is a championship venue that continues to host top-tier events.
