The Ledges, Huntsville, Alabama

The Ledges, perched atop Huntsville Mountain, which opened in 2000, offers a dramatic championship course designed by Hurdzan/Fry Environmental Golf Design. Routed across rocky ridges and plateaus, the par-71 layout features panoramic views of the Tennessee Valley, bold elevation changes, and greens that reward precision. Recent renovation and refinement work, again guided by the Hurdzan/Fry team, has focused on updating bunkers and enhancing playability while maintaining the course’s natural character. The Ledges was one of the earliest premier clubs I photographed, and I’ve had the privilege of returning many times since to capture its evolving beauty and striking mountaintop setting.
