PRIVATE CLUBS IN THE USA
Private clubs were among the first businesses to open in the early days of COVID. Folks not going to work needed something to do that seemed safe, and nothing offered that opportunity more than golf’s private clubs. My business never slowed down during COVID, as I traveled coast to coast, doing what I love. Even when much of the country was sheltering from the unknown, golfers played on. Of course, there were accommodations to the concerns that people had. There were often no rakes in the bunkers so nobody would touch the same rake as anyone else. Carts were often one-player-only, at least in the beginning. And of course, inside clubhouses, masks were required. But attitudes were great, smiles were everywhere, and the great game of golf carried on.
