Lemon Bay Golf Club, Englewood, Florida
by
Lemon Bay Golf Club, in Englewood, Florida, is a private sanctuary where golf and nature coexist along the Gulf Coast. Originally opened in 1989, the course recently underwent a thoughtful redesign by architect Drew Rogers, who refined bunkering, recontoured greens, and enhanced drainage while embracing the site’s natural beauty. Routed through wetlands and preserves, Lemon Bay is also recognized as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, home to a rich variety of wildlife. When I shot the course, I was fortunate not only to photograph the course’s strategic lines and coastal scenery, but also to capture some spectacular images of a pair of nesting eagles—a reminder that Lemon Bay is as much about its environment as its golf.
