Highland Park Golf Course, Birmingham, AL 2024

Highland Park Golf Course, established in 1903 as the Country Club of Birmingham, is the oldest golf course in Alabama—and one of the oldest in continuous operation in the U.S.. Designed by Nick Thompson, the course has evolved through the decades, notably renovated in 1998 by Bob Barrett and Bob Cupp, and again in 2019–2020 with updated bunkers and fast AU Victory Bentgrass greens. This par-70, nearly 5,900-yard layout blends elevation changes, creeks, lakes, and small greens into a memorable, value-rich municipal golf experience—earning national acclaim among public courses.
