Golf course photography is, for me, a joy beyond description. Golf courses are my favorite places on the planet. From humble, small town munis to some of the finest exclusive private clubs in the USA, I've had the privilege of photographing all kinds of courses. And I love them all. When I photograph a golf course, my goal is to communicate that love by capturing not just pictures, but moments.
The biggest challenge a course photographer faces is that his or her images will be viewed by both people who have played the course whose image is being viewed and by those who have not. Those familiar with the property need to see either a fresh perspective or a superior representation of familiar scenes. For strangers, the challenge is to elicit a feeling of being there, or at least a strong desire to be there. When those things happen, I've succeeded at my job.
This portfolio contains some of my favorite golf course photographs from the past 2 years (with a few older images). I believe that a photographers current work is much more important than what he or she has done in the past. Clubs included are from all over the USA and in China.
