Druid Hills Golf Club, Atlanta, Georgia

Druid Hills Golf Club sits just minutes from downtown Atlanta, yet feels grounded in a much earlier era of the game. Originally designed by Donald Ross in 1912, it remains a classic example of Ross’s understated brilliance — strategic bunkering, subtle greens, and a walkable routing that rewards thoughtful play.

I’ve had the pleasure of photographing the course through renovations by two good friends, Bob Cupp and Bill Bergin, both of whom approached the work with deep respect for Ross’s original intent. Seeing the course evolve through their hands has only deepened my appreciation for Druid Hills. It’s one of Atlanta’s true golf treasures, and a place I always enjoy returning to with a camera.
