I photographed all of Salt Lake City’s municipal golf courses during two different periods. The first was in 2012, while my wife was working as an IB Coordinator for a small school system just south of Salt Lake City. That time allowed me to live with the courses, walk them often, and understand the important role they play in the community.
Years later, I was invited back to photograph the munis again, giving me a second look at a system I had grown to truly appreciate. Salt Lake City’s municipal courses are a valued public asset, well maintained and deeply loved. I came to admire them all — though Bonneville stands apart, widely regarded as the crown jewel and, in my view, the best of the bunch.
