Bobby Jones Golf Course, Atlanta, Georgia

Bobby Jones Golf Course was reimagined as a legacy project for Atlanta, funded by the Bobby Jones Golf Course Foundation. In 2020, the Foundation engaged golf course architect Bob Cupp to design an entirely new course — a project Bob undertook pro bono as his final gift to the city.

Bob had become a close friend, and I was honored to be on the property with him and his son, Bobby, alongside the engineers before construction began. It was Bob’s last trip beyond his home before he passed.

I followed the project from its earliest planning through construction, opening day, and finally the finished course itself. Photographing Bobby Jones was both a professional privilege and a deeply personal experience.
