Athens Country Club, Athens, Georgia

Athens Country Club, in Athens, Georgia, is home to two exceptional 18-hole courses. The North Course, designed by Donald Ross in 1926, showcases his signature parkland style with rolling fairways and subtle greens that flow naturally with the terrain. The South Course, added in 1959 by George Cobb, offers a more modern layout while maintaining a classic Southern feel. Together, they create a beautiful and challenging golf experience. I photographed the club in 2018, and it remains a great memory... one of Georgia’s most graceful examples of timeless golf architecture.
